Tarun Kothari MD, FACG, FACP is a board-certified Gastroenterologist, retired from active private practice of Gastroenterology/Endoscopy/Hepatology after 37 years.

Dr. Kothari was Chief of Gastroenterology and Director of Endoscopy at Unity, a hospital affiliate of Rochester Regional Health from 1998-2017. Dr. Kothari is an Emeritus member of the medical staff at Rochester Regional health affiliated hospitals. While in private practice he was involved in clinical research and has published numerous abstracts while mentoring internal medicine residents of Unity Hospital.

Dr. Kothari’s clinical interests include many common GI disorders including Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Barrett’s esophagus and GERD, Hepatitis B and C, advanced liver disease and Pancreatic-Biliary diseases.

He has served on numerous health care boards. Patient safety and care quality with compassion has been near and dear to his heart. He is a recipient of the Edward Mott Moore Award from Monroe County Medical Society in New York. He would like to see significant improvements in patient experience while visiting any health care facility.
